Altru Password Support

Passwords are the user's responsibility.

Make sure you are registered for the Self-Service Password Reset portal to change or reset your password

Note: Altru IT will NEVER reset both your password and your MFA at the same time. You will need to use the self-service portal or physically come to Altru to perform both actions in the same visit.

Password Options:




  • My Password Has Not Expired Yet - I Want to Change It or update my MFA method


  • If you have received notifications that your password is expiring soon (but has not yet) use the link above or in the first step below

    Change your password any time

  • Login to Microsoft Office 365 online using this link or the Password application in Citrix.
  • Remember your Office 365 username is the Altru-issued Epic username + '@altru.org' (Ex: janedoe@altru.org)
  • Click on your initials/user profile button in the upper right corner and select View Account.
  • In the Password section, click Change Password.
  • Passwords must meet the following requirements:

    • Minimum of 12 characters in length
    • Contain at least 3 of the following:
      • Uppercase letters
      • Lowercase letters
      • Numbers
      • Special characters (includes spaces)
      • Can include a maximum of 2 consecutively repeated characters
      • Cannot repeat past passwords
      • Cannot include any portion of the User ID

    Change, Update or add your MFA methods

  • Login to Microsoft Office 365 online using this link or the Password application in Citrix.
  • Remember your Office 365 username is the Altru-issued Epic username + '@altru.org' (Ex: janedoe@altru.org)
  • Click on your initials/user profile button in the upper right corner and select View Account.
  • In the Security Info section, click Update Info
  • Add new sign-in method, Change existing or delete any you wish to remove by clicking the appropriate button

  • I Forgot My Password or It Has Expired

  • IMPORTANT

    • If your password has expired and you have not registered to use this Self-Service Password Reset portal already, you will need to contact Altru Support at 701-780-5774
    • If you have already registered, you may use the text box below to reset your password.

    • Enter your Epic Username in the text box, click the 'Reset Password' button below and start at Step 3 below.

      • NOTE - there is no need to add '@altru.org' if you use this text box

        Reset your password - Manual Steps

        If you forget your password or get locked out of your account, you can complete the following steps from any device without calling for assistance.

        *Note - you must be registered already in order to use the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) tool

        1. Use any browser on pc or mobile to navigate to the Self-Service Password Reset website
        2. On the 'Get back into your account' screen, log in using your Altru Epic username followed by '@altru.org' (Example: janderson@altru.org)
        3. Enter the characters in the picture and click Next.
        1. Indicate why you are having trouble signing in and click Next.
        1. Select how you would like to get back into your account and follow the prompts.
